Spun

Are you in the mood to watch a dark comedy about meth addicts? If you are, "Spun" is the movie for you.

I call it a dark comedy because a lot of the movie will make you laugh, yet the subject matter is of a very dark nature and very tragic in reality.

Spun has some great cinematography; they use some very interesting shots and the way the movie progresses sometimes it gives you the feeling that you might be on drugs! (Watch the movie and you'll know what I mean).

Jason Schwartzman and Brittany Murphy do a hell of a job with their characters; their performancers really impressed me. Most of the cast does a good job, but them two really carry the movie along.

The movie tells the story of Ross, a young meth addict, and his interactions with other addicts and the dealer (known as "the cook"). The movie shows you the effects this drug has on people and how it ruins people's lives, without them even noticing it, and the dangerous power of drug addiction.

I enjoyed watching this movie, but I must say that it is not for everyone...some people might find it too hard to swallow, even though it has a lot of humor in it.

One more thing that is worth mentioning is that the soundtrack is great...at least in my opinion. It has some very intersting music, including the sounds of Ozzy Osbourne, songs written by Billy Corgan (lead singer of Smashing Pumpkins) and a very interesting acoustic cover of "Number of the Beast."

I give it a rating of 4/5
